So, I have a pretty great husband. Some days I feel that way more than others, but the day I found out he was coordinating the purchase of this bag from the Fauré Le Page boutique in Paris (one of the few places on the planet you can buy one) I knew I had married the right man. Okay, the shared morals and life goals, his killer smile and sick sense of humor count for something too, but come on! Unprompted  purchasing of a rare bag from a foreign country through a traveling co-worker? Bravo hubby, bravo.

Festival Fashion

Festival season is upon us and while a music festival is basically my worst nightmare (too many people, usually overly hot and dirty, major FOMO when there are multiple stages, etc.) I'll certainly take the fashion any day.

This dress from Free People is currently available in store at Off Fifth, but if you don't live near one of Saks Fifth Avenue's outlets, I've linked to a number of similar dresses on Free People's website. The vintage pink turquoise necklace was my grandmother's. Everything else you can easily grab online before heading out to the desert for Coachella or if you're just in the market for a few spring pieces.

Like Butter and Coffee

Some things go together like butter and coffee and if you don't think those two things go together then read this first. 

Now, where were we? Ahh yes, trying to come up with an appropriate analogy for how well free people dresses go with boho accessories. While a crown of flowers would look frighteningly out of place with my standard office attire, it seems completely natural and at home with a flowing dress from Free People.

Also on that list? Armbands. I really can't think of a better way to showcase an armband then saddled up next to a backless Free People number. The key to making it work without looking like a Grecian warrior? Find the right piece.

Grey, Rainy Day

When I lived in New York, I began each morning by checking the weather on my iPhone (before I even got out of bed). Since moving back to Los Angeles, I'm no longer in the habit, which may have just something to do with 340+ days of sunshine a year. As a result, I was caught off guard by the rain on Saturday. Luckily, I had this hat with me to hide under. It's old, but I found very similar styles here and here.

You really can't beat a well-shaped hat for hiding under - be it from the rain, a bad hair day or simply the world if I have yet to consume the amount of coffee necessary for me to successfully interact with other human beings.
